Federal Changes Impacting RI Medicaid
The federal government is making changes to Medicaid programs across the country.
Effective October 1, 2026, new federal laws will stop Medicaid for some people who are not U.S. citizens. Starting in 2027, some adults on Medicaid will have to meet work requirements and renew their coverage every six months.
