Personal Care Attendant Registry
Looking for a career that can change lives?
If you're beginning a career in healthcare or are looking for extra income, you'll find a great opportunity as a Personal Care Attendant, or PCA. A PCA assists with daily activities, so the participant maintains independence and may remain in their home and community.
PCAs help older adults or individuals with disabilities with:
- Household duties like mail sorting, cleaning, or laundry
- Shopping and meals
- Bathing, dressing, or grooming
- Transportation (optional)
To become a PCA, you must:
- Be over 18
- Be Certified in CPR and First Aid
- Complete a free online orientation to the Personal Care Program, provided by the state.
How to Apply
Applying to join the PCA Registry is easy, but you must provide documentation of your CPR and First Aid certifications. Please click the button below to begin.
Submit Your Application Today!
Once your application is approved, your information will be made available through the registry and to prospective employers. If contacted by a prospective employer, PCAs must complete an interview and background check. Pay rates are determined by each employer based on the level of care requested.
If you have questions, you can email the RI Executive Office of Health and Human Services at ohhs.pcpcaregistry@ohhs.ri.gov.
