Medicaid Advisory Committee (MAC) and Beneficiary Advisory Council (BAC)
Rhode Island Medicaid is always working to make services better for our members. Your voice, perspective, and input help us serve you better. In July 2025 Medicaid formed two new advisory groups: a Beneficiary Advisory Council (BAC) and a Medicaid Advisory Committee (MAC).
What is the Difference Between the BAC and the MAC?
While the BAC and the MAC both provide opportunities for people to share their experiences and knowledge about Medicaid, below is a quick overview about each group.

Please note the BAC is only open to Medicaid beneficiaries. While the MAC is open to community members, providers, or advocates who wish to be involved in sharing their experiences and opinions with us. There are a limited number of spots available in each advisory group. Anyone interested in joining the BAC or the MAC must apply during the open application periods announced on this website.
