To file an appeal regarding Medicaid and Purchased Health Coverage through HealthSource RI, call HealthSource RI at 1-855-840-HSRI (4774). For questions about filing an appeal for human services programs such as SNAP, RIW, Child Care, GPA, or SSP call the Department of Human Services at 1-855-MY-RI-DHS (1-855-697-4347).To request a fair hearing in person, please visit your nearest DHS office. Peer Recovery Services Peer Recovery Specialists (or Recovery Coaches) are current or former consumers of behavioral health services, or recovery supports as well as family and loved ones who have shared in the experiences of someone directly affected. They are trained and certified to offer support and assistance to those interested in recovery and community-integration process. Peer Support Services (PSS) are non-clinical, person-centered, recovery-focused supports. Peer support is intended to inspire hope in individuals that recovery is not only possible but probable. These services are designed to promote empowerment, self-determination, coping skills and resiliency through mentoring and service coordination supports. These specialists work in a wide range of settings including community mental health centers, behavioral health programs, substance use disorder treatment facilities, peer run organizations, community based organizations, emergency rooms, courts, homeless shelters and outreach programs.
