Media Statement: CARES Act Funding Application Process for Early Intervention Providers Begins December 13th, 2021 Governor Dan McKee and Secretary Womazetta Jones are pleased to announce that the Early Intervention application process for Cares Act Funding to providers will begin today. This announcement comes one week after the Governor stated he would provide additional funds to assist Early Intervention providers in mitigating the economic impact of the pandemic, recruiting and retaining workers, avoiding further closures, and providing continued services to children with developmental needs. This $3.64 million in funding will provide essential early childhood development services that support healthy outcomes for children across Rhode Island. This investment is in addition to the $5.5 million for Early Intervention that the Governor included in his RI Rebounds plan. These funds will help Early Intervention providers recover losses due to the pandemic, and stabilize the system. EOHHS will be meeting with providers this afternoon to outline the application process and application materials will be shared on the EOHHS website shortly after that meeting.
