EOHHS to Hold Listening Sessions Regarding the Search for a New DCYF Director

Sessions Scheduled in Newport, Providence

CRANSTON, RI TheExecutive Office of Health and Human Services(EOHHS)has planned two public listening sessions as part of our national search for a new, permanent Directorof the Department of Children, Youth and Families(DCYF).

The listening sessions have been scheduled as follows:

  • Monday, October 3, 2016 5:30 -7pm

    Newport Public Library, 300 Spring Street, Newport
  • Wednesday, October 5, 2016 4:30-6pm

    Child and Family Service, 1268 Eddy Street, Providence

The listening sessions are open to the public and seats will be available on a first come, first servedbasis. Secretary Roberts and members of the DCYF Search Committeewill guide these sessions. Membersinclude:

  • Victor Capellan, Central Falls Superintendent of Schools, Chairman of the Committee
  • Elizabeth Roberts, Secretary, EOHHS
  • Nancy Benoit, Retired legislator and educator
  • Darlene Allen, Executive Director, Adoption RI
  • Jennifer Griffith, Rhode Island Child Advocate
  • Linda D’Amario-Rossi, former Director, DCYF

“These listening sessions are part of the search for our next DCYF director and will be invaluable to us in learning firsthand what the community would like to see in this new leader,” Secretary Roberts said.

The DCYF Director Search Committee is tasked with recommending acandidate to Governor Raimondo for her appointment, with the advice and consent of the Senate.
