Healthcare Workforce Transformation Summit

On June 16, 2017, over 200 healthcare partners attended the EOHHS Healthcare Workforce Transformation Summit to consider local and national strategies to prepare, deploy, and support a healthcare workforce to meet the needs of our rapidly evolving health system.  

Keynote speaker, Erin Fraher, Director of the Carolina Center for Health Workforce Research and Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, delivered an address on workforce planning in a rapidly changing healthcare system. 

Following her presentation, Fraher joined Stephen Campbell (Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute) and Pam Farnham (University of Vermont Medical Center) for a panel discussion on community health teams, direct care workforce challenges, and the future nursing workforce. 

The Summit also featured workshops on new and evolving healthcare occupations, integrated behavioral healthcare, and community-based interprofessional education.
